New Term, New Groups - Please Read

Apologies for a couple of surnames that we're missing - it seems the registration forms went walkies!

Dear Parent,

As you know Windmill Young Actors will be offering two sessions as of next term. This will be trialled for the first half term, but both Ben and Tanushka feel that it is a much needed addition in order to maintain the high level of tuition for each individual member and are extremely excited about the opportunity of having a new, later session.

The young actors will be working on exactly the same material in both sessions and there are a number of plans to make sure that both groups still have the opportunity to work with each other via combined sharing sessions throughout the term.

One of the strengths of Windmill Young Actors is the great sense of ensemble and atmosphere and so the last thing we want to do is to disrupt that by changing the groups too much. However, we do need to aim for an ideal group size. At the moment, there are nearly 40 children registered, therefore we have had to try and move people around a little.

Based on the forms that you returned to us about your preferences, we have taken into consideration each child’s friendships, family, length of time in the club, age and confidence and would therefore like to suggest the following two groups.

This is by no means set in stone and if you would like to talk to us about any issues that arise because of these changes, please let us know asap. Our priority is that everyone is happy where they are and with whom they are going to be acting with. If this means that they have to stay in the earlier group so be it. However, please do try and understand that in order to create the best learning environment, we do need to keep an eye on group sizes.

We would like to suggest:

09.45
Harvey Morris, Eva Morris, Rosie Silver, Morwenna Silver, Louise Trottier, Annie Lambert, Josie Lambert, Ruby Herman, Rebecca Lewis, Amelia Dam, Jessica Dam, Laura Priddey, Millie-May Morris, Elliott Griffin, India Knipe, Sophie White, Emma Cruickshank, Flint Pascoe-Easterby, Orlando Pascoe-Easterby, Milan Ballester, Cerys Salkeld, Chloe Dumigan, Lucy Carr-McClave, Frankie and Alfie.

12.00
Harry Breskel, Jeremy Hersheson, Ellen Boucher, Anna Simmonds, Ben Hughes, Sam Salvage, Isabelle Grey, Freya Grey, Oliver Patey, Lily Pattison, Caia Life, Joseph Life, Oscar, plus new students.

It looks like the later session will start off as quite a small group but we believe this will give the young actors greater opportunities to play bigger roles. It will also give additional time per student to develop both old and new skills.

Please don’t hesitate to contact Ben or Cicely about any of this. To reiterate – this is simply an option we’re looking at in order to best serve the young actors.

Yours Sincerely,

Ben and Tanushka
